Dear PSAC555 Family:

Covid 19 Funding meeting link June 15th, 4 pm

Since May 2020, the local has been helping our members with the costs associated with the Covid 19 pandemic and transitioning to online learning.

Over the next few weeks, we are going to post some of the reasons our members are asking for financial help:

“I was registered as a proctor in various departments for invigilation duties of mid-term and final examinations. COVID-19 has affected that source of financial support since all the exams are now taken remotely. Thus, this fund will help contribute towards the payment of certain daily life essentials.”

We ask that if you have not signed the PSAC555 academic worker petition for Covid 19 transitional funding please sign it now.

We are trying to access the 4.8 funding the Ont. Gov’t Covid 19 provided to Ontario Tech U, in Covid 19 transitional funds and the surplus income from the 2020-2021 Ontario Tech U budget.

Although we appreciate that the University has said that they appreciate all the work we have done to transition to online learning. We would like help with some of the costs.

Most of us are contractual employees with limited funds and limited access to other Covid 19 support funding.

Funding from the University for our part in the transition to online learning would go a long way.
